🚀 Balaji Amines Launches India’s First Commercial DME Plant & Expands into EV Battery Chemicals
- Balaji Amines has started commercial production of Dimethyl Ether (DME) at its Solapur plant, with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum.
- DME is a clean fuel alternative, blendable with LPG (up to 20% globally, 8% in India).
- This marks India’s first commercial-scale DME production facility.
- The company is diversifying into EV battery chemicals, including Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) at 15,000 MTPA and N-Methyl Pyrrolidone (NMP).
- Balaji Amines aims to reduce India’s reliance on LPG imports and strengthen its position in the EV battery supply chain.
